On October 22, 2014, GovPartners had its first Breakfast Series Event, “Transportation: Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, and Shaping the Future”.
The event was held at the National Conference Center. The event started with the presentation of Bill Lanham. He talked about ground transportation in aviation at the Washington Dulles Airport and the way the Millennial Generation is changing transportation by using TNCs (Transportation Networking Companies). Bill is the Manager of Landside Contract Division for Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
He also brought into focus the growth and development of Washington Dulles Airport and Reagan International Airport through the years.
Another speaker was Ralign Wells, Director Office of Parking and Transportation Maryland Aviation Administration and Baltimore Washington International Airport. Ralign discussed the changes BWI has had through the years, highlighting the airport's investments, new plans and projects.
Denny Clifford’s presentation focused on aviation and logistics with a financial approach and how different public health issues, such as Ebola, impact the aviation industry. Denny, is the Chief Financial Officer for Skylink Aviation Inc.
The last of the speakers was Paul Mounier, Manager Transit and Commuter Services Division of Loudoun County. He provided an update regarding the different ground transportation means utilized by Loudoun County to get to and from the Silver Line.
It is important to mention that a portion of the proceeds went to Dulles Area Transportation Association; a transportation management association (TMA), that identifies transportation needs in the Dulles Area. To learn more go to www.datatrans.org.
