The Struggle for Fuel Alternatives
A leading aviation group is pushing the EU to assist with the development of alternative jet fuels. In an attempt to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and ease its impact on the environment The Sustainable Aviation Council is asking for $6 Billion in investments over the next 15 years just for refinery in Britain alone. With the rising cost of fuel becoming a larger concern, leaders in the industry are desperate for some sort of change. ‘A generation ago fuel costs were in the single digits while today they account for 40-%50 of total airline costs.’
