Uber Senior VP of Business, Emil Michael, has come under fire for comments he recently made regarding how the expanding tech enterprise could combat criticism from reporters.
At a private event in which Michael believed he was off the record, he suggested that maybe Uber should go on the offensive and hire its own team of researchers to dig up dirt on journalists who have come out against the ever-growing transportation network.
Later, through an Uber spokesperson, Michael stated that he “regretted the comments and that they in no way represent his personal views or that of the company.”
One thing is clear; Uber needs to immediately find a way to improve its relationship with the fourth estate. In today’s world of instant news through social media, blogs and other internet broadcasting, the people who do the reporting can make or break your situation.
